I discovered a Fedivision Song Contest when new to Mastodon. I didn't enter at that time and looking at my own archive I had few pieces that were <4 minutes so I couldn't meet the criteria. So I set about thinking. Nearly all music is sectional; a song might go verse, verse, chorus, middle verse chorus, chorus or AABCABB - could I get away with just A or AA or AB, retain interest, and keep it short?
This album is the result of me writing stuff and not developing it in the way I normally would. The Optically Pumped Rubidium Maser was the chosen track for Fedivision2024.
All the titles are mostly words and things I've found in my reading, listening and social media. Optically..... is the title of a scientific paper, Vexillology is the study of flags, Pulchritudinous doesn't sound like it means "physically beautiful; comely"....etc.
