This album is pulled from tracks I recorded trying to push myself out of my comfort zone with my modular synth; attempting minimal use of melodic sequences and focusing on "patch programming", feedback, and misuse of electricity, inspired by Serge-style patching (with heavy inspiration coming from the tracks/videos by the great mafmadmaf). The track titles (many of them, anyway) come from my love of weird horror and high strangeness, and the album title was inspired by the monumentally bonkers wuxia film Buddha's Palm.

Title for track two inspired by the engraving by Maurice Sand
Title for track three from "Jungle Twilight" by Clark Ashton Smith
Title for track four from an interview with Iannis Xenakis
Title for track five from the story detailed by Fred Beck, regarding a multi-day battle between five miners and as many as thirty ape-men near Spirit Lake
Title for track seven from John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness
Title for track eight from Laird Barron's story "Bulldozer"
