Ghosts Of My Time

I make sample-based music. And I watch too much Youtube. I noticed a common theme in the videos I watch. I decided to make a concept album about it.
Does everything feel weird right now? Why is everything fake? People feel fake. Food is fake, air is fake, the news is fake. Something is off. You can feel it.

I weave these ideas from Youtube into my songs and I like it. It sounds fun and thought-provoking.

At first I thought this was just a funny little thing where I could poke fun at pretentious youtubers. But as I was making this album my perspective shifted. These are after all ordinary people speaking about real things.

And yes, I have noticed. Something really is off. So I started looking again, on youtube, for some theory to understand. Of course I came across Mark Fisher. So I added some of his words into the last song, along with others. The album name is a nod to him along with a reference to the word zeitgeist.
