Cinematic electronica aptly describes David Whatson’s style. He is an Australian musician living on Kabi Kabi land. Hailing from the pre-digital era, David is a self-taught woodwind player whose formative years involved tape manipulation and other analogue devices. Like most musicians, David’s list of influences is extensive. However, he considers the Residents, Brian Eno, Eric Dolphy, Merideth Monk, CAN, and Morgan Fisher as pivotal. After playing in bands for many years, his most recent aural adventure is imagining soundtracks for films that do not yet exist.
